Flying the Qatar Airways Qsuite is consistently ranked as one of the best business-class experiences in the world. Imagine lie-flat seats, privacy doors, gourmet dining, and impeccable service – all miles above the clouds.
The good news? This luxurious experience is accessible using Avios points!
Finding award availability, especially at the coveted saver level, can sometimes feel like searching for hidden treasure. But don’t worry, this guide will walk you through exactly how to find those precious Qsuite seats between North America and Doha using the Qatar Airways website.
Understanding Qsuite Avios Pricing Between North America And Doha
Before we dive in, let’s look at the typical one-way Avios costs for business class on Qatar Airways flights between North America and Doha:
- Saver Rate: 70,000 Avios – This is the goal! The best value, but often limited availability.
- Expanded Availability: 94,500 Avios – Offers more seat options than Saver, bridging the gap.
- Flexi Rate: 140,000 Avios – The highest cost, typically double the Saver rate, offering the most availability but at a significant premium.
Now, let’s find those seats!
Step 1: Log In to Your Qatar Airways Privilege Club Account

Head over to qatarairways.com and log in to your Privilege Club account. You’ll need an account to search for award availability using Avios.
(Pro Tip: Some users report needing Avios in their account to search directly. If you encounter issues, try searching for a regular cash flight first. On the results page, look for an option like “Book an award flight” or similar, which should then prompt you to log in and show Avios availability).
Step 2: Initiate Your Award Search

- On the main flight search section, ensure you select the “Booking using Avios” option.
- Enter your desired route. Choose “One way”.
- For the origin or destination, select Doha (DOH).
- For the other end, choose one of the North American cities served directly by Qatar Airways. These currently include:
- Atlanta (ATL)
- Boston (BOS)
- Chicago (ORD)
- Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)
- Houston (IAH)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- Miami (MIA)
- Montreal (YUL)
- New York (JFK)
- San Francisco (SFO)
- Seattle (SEA)
- Toronto (YYZ)
- Washington D.C. (IAD)
- Select your desired date (you can be flexible here, as we’ll use the calendar view next).
- Select 1 passenger only to start your search
- Make sure to select Business Class as your desired cabin.
- Click “Search flights”.
Step 3: Use the Calendar View to Find Availability

Once the initial results load, you might see flight options for your chosen date. However, the real power lies in the calendar view:

- Look for a button or link that says “See more dates,” “Show full calendar,” or similar. Click it.
- This will open a multi-week or monthly calendar view showing Avios availability.
- Pay close attention to the color coding:
- Green Dates: Hooray! These dates indicate Saver Rate (70,000 Avios) availability in Business Class. This is what you’re looking for!
- Black Dates: These dates typically have availability, but at the higher Expanded (94,500 Avios) or Flexi (140,000 Avios) rates. Click on the date to see the exact price.
- Greyed Out Dates: These dates have no Business Class award availability using Avios.
Keep clicking through the months until you find a green date that works for you!
Found Your Seat? Time to Book!
Once you’ve pinpointed a date with Saver (or acceptable Flexi/Expanded) availability, you’re ready for the next step. If your Avios aren’t already in your Qatar Airways Privilege Club account, now is the time to transfer them from your bank or credit card program. Transfers are usually quick but can sometimes take a day or two, so factor that in. After the points arrive, proceed with the booking process on the Qatar Airways website.
Booking Flights Beyond Doha
If your final destination isn’t Doha, but you’re transiting through it, here’s what to do:
When you find that 70,000-point saver availability between North America and Doha, simply redo the search for the same date—this time using your actual final destination instead of Doha.
Important: Always find the flight between North America and Doha first. Then, search again with your connecting leg, even if you’re flying into North America. This approach helps surface hidden award space more effectively.
Depending on your final destination, you will have to pay 5k – 30K avios extra

Final Tips for Success
Saver Seats are Rare: Finding 70k Saver Qsuite seats requires flexibility and persistence. Check often and be prepared to adjust your travel dates or departure city.
Consider Positioning Flights: If you can’t find Saver availability from your home airport, look at other Qatar gateways listed above. It might be worth booking a separate, cheaper flight (a positioning flight) to an airport like JFK, ORD, or DFW if they have better availability.
Search With One Adult Only: Even if you’re planning to travel with others, start your search with just one adult. Once you find availability, you can redo the search with multiple travelers. Keep in mind that Qatar typically releases a maximum of two seats at the saver rate of 70K. If you’re flying with a larger group, consider looking at the flexi rate instead.
Flexi Rate + Transfer Bonus?: If you have zero flexibility and must fly on specific dates, the 140k Flexi rate might be your only option. Keep an eye out for credit card transfer bonuses (e.g., a 30% bonus when transferring points to Avios). A bonus can significantly reduce the sting of booking a Flexi award.
Book Far Out In Advance : For best availability, you are going to have to look 10+ months out. While that can be difficult to plan, keep in mind that Qatar only charges $25 to cancel your ticket and have your miles are taxes fully refunded. So even if my plans aren’t 100%, I am ok making a speculative booking to secure my seat and paying the $25 to cancel if things don’t work out
Booking the Qatar Airways Qsuite with Avios is an achievable goal with the right strategy. Follow these steps, be flexible, and get ready to experience one of the finest flying products available today! Happy searching!
Great job 👏🏼!!
